Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the Social Responsibility management model of the University of Magdalena and its alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals within the social environment where it carries out its educational function. It is theoretically grounded in the work of García (2020), Oyala (2020), Carroll (1991), ECLAC (2023), and other authors. The research is descriptive in nature, employing a quantitative approach, and includes a population of 15 administrators from the University of Magdalena. The data collection instrument was a frequency scale composed of 10 items with five response options: always, almost always, sometimes, almost never, and never. Descriptive statistics were used for data analysis and processing. The results demonstrate that the University of Magdalena has an institutional commitment stemming from its social responsibility to the development of sustainable communities, enabling it to assume an influential role in society and culture, for the sake of development and social mobility—elements present in the Sustainable Development Goals. Furthermore, a positive perception is observed regarding its social and ethical commitment, closely linked to sustainable development, thus enabling the favorable presence of a specific organizational model within the university.
