Anti-Plagiarism Policies
In accordance with the constitutional law of the Republic of Colombia, as established by Judgment C-1118 of 2005, intellectual creations and those related to their disclosure and dissemination—as intangible assets—have been grouped for legal purposes under the so-called intellectual property rights. These rights, in turn, include copyright, industrial property rights, and rights over scientific discoveries, as well as other forms and manifestations of an individual’s creative capacity. Therefore, the Revista Temario Científico will protect the intellectual property of authors by guaranteeing the authorship of the received articles.
In this regard, the Revista Temario Científico uses iThenticate software, which is applied to submitted articles for the purpose of preventing plagiarism and self-plagiarism. This prevention process is carried out before the article is sent to expert reviewers. Submissions that yield a similarity report above 20% will be returned to their authors along with the similarity report generated by the software. This allows authors to make the necessary corrections and/or explain the reasons for this similarity, so the editorial committee can determine whether the conduct is linked to plagiarism or not. If plagiarism is proven, the article will be rejected. Otherwise, the article will proceed with the standard review process previously established.
